Italian language schools

Does anyone know of a good language school in Italy? I am hoping for a 1-2 months course. My first preference is Lecce, Ancona or Bologna, but I’m mainly looking for a good program. Thank you.

I've not taken any courses but I am aware of Il Sasso, my wife looked into it once:

In Montepulciano, which may be too small for you. A popular, very nice town, surrounded by some gorgeous countryside. We stayed here, owned by a lovely family: https://www.fontecastello.it/index.php

We've never been but friends of ours adore Ascoli Piceno and studied some Italian there: http://www.accademia-italiana.com/

Gundersen, Thank you for the info. The agriturismo looks wonderful. We’ve been thinking about Ascoli Pecino. Will definitely check them out. Hopefully, we’ll be able to go late this year or next.

Becky,

They may only be offering virtual classes at the present time, but you could have a look at this school in Assisi - https://www.aliassisi.it/en/ .

I stopped by and had a chat with them when I was last in Assisi, and was quite impressed.

Madrelingua is a very good school in Bologna. I have studied there 5 times for 3 weeks each time. Currently everything in Italy is online. I highly recommend the teachers there.

We went to one in Florence https://www.languageinternational.com/school/scuola-leonardo-da-vinci-68180

We were happy with it. In addition to four hours of classes in the morning divided between grammar and conversation, they also did local tours of churches and museums and such with the teachers guiding the visits in basic Italian so we could practice listening. There were also wider ranging field trips.

We were staying in an apartment in Oltrarno for a couple of months and it was such a joy to walk across the Ponte Vecchio in the morning and then through central florence to the school; we would often stop at Vivoli for my husband to get a quick coffee on the way and I would have them open up the ice cream and have a small cafe gelato. Then after classes we would get fabulous sandwiches at the window of restaurante Antica Noe. they had porchetta which was amazing -- you could have it with lots of condiments and veggies etc but I liked just plain porchetta on a roll -- they would let me order a half sandwich (they were huge) and make up a half roll when they saw me coming and seemed pleased I liked their wonderful pork as is. It was truly wonderful; have not had its like since.

We studied for 6 weeks and made a lot of progress -- alas we have not practiced and so it is. pretty much gone by now.
