My family and I will be traveling to Italy September 1 -13 2024. We've already booked our lodging, hotels & a couple of events.
My wife & adult daughter have been to Italy previously. My son & I have not been before. My daughter went to school in Florence so she has traveled extensively throughout Italy.
We plan on landing in Rome Sept. 2 take in a couple of sites around our hotel & leave for Riomaggiore the next morning. We have a Sunset cruise booked in Manarola for that evening. We plan on taking the pesto class the next day back in Manarola.
We will take train to Florence later that afternoon. We are in Florence Sept.4-6. We have a great Duomo flat near the Cathedral.
We don't have specific plans for each day in Florence as of yet. Open for suggestions.
WE will train down to Positano and plan to be there for 5 days Sept. 7-12. WE were planning on hiring private transportation from Sorrento to get to our lodging in Positano. The only definitive item we all want to do is visit Capri. Other than that we are open for suggestions.
Train back up to Rome late day the 12th & fly home to Boston the 13th.
Appreciate any thoughts on our plan. You all made our Sept. 2022 Switzerland trip amazing with all of the suggestions & tips provided.

My main advice is if including Capri, stay overnight!

We are going to Sorrento in September and are arranging a driver from Naples train station after reading about the very crowded, hot and tired Circumvesuviana train from Naples to Sorrento. You may want to get a quote from Naples straight to Positano
