We are flying in to Rome and have rented a villa in southern tuscany for a week. We have three days before we go to the villa. I need recommendations on where to go between arrival in rome and arrival at the villa. I think trying to visit the Amalfi Coast or Cinque Terra maybe too ambitious but I am not sure. What does everyone think? Any other recommendations?
I'm currently in Positano which is quite frankly one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's a bit of an adventure to get here - there's no direct route via public transportation, but it is well worth the effort!
the Wahington Post likes Elba and it is in your neighborhood http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A18947-2004Aug20_2.html
Is there a reason that you are not staying in Rome for the 3 days? It is the most interesting European city that I have ever visited.
Yep, stay in Rome. It's amazing. Here are some pictures from our visit to Rome in May 2008. You'll never run out of amazing things to see and do.
