ITA : FCO- IAD (Dulles) direct flights ending?

I have been enjoying the new IAD-FCO flights for the past couple of years as a much lower priced option to United which I normally fly. I have not seen any announcement on them ending but when trying to book flights for early 2025 those direct flights no longer seem to be an option. I was able to book an FCO to IAD flight for late October but not seeing much after that?

Perhaps they are seasonal. Check Google Flights and Flight Aware, if you haven't already. Good luck?

It's a seasonal flight that is ending on Monday 30 Dec 2024 and then resuming on Thursday 20 February 2025.

As suggested by Pat, a Google Flights check is the best way to confirm this -- select any random dates and then the right route (IAD-FCO), restrict the parameters to only nonstop flights and only United, and then go back to the date selector and click ahead. You will see there are flight options every day until the end of December, a break of a little bit under two months, and then a resumption daily starting in February.

For the OP, it is fairly common for airlines to trim transatlantic schedules in the winter, especially between the end-of-year winter holidays and spring break travel, since this is when transatlantic demand is at its lowest.

So is the United flight seasonal, or the ITA?
