I posted this question on the Greece part of the forum. We need to fly from Rome to Athens in early June. It seems to be the best time and a decent price if you have to check a bag and want to select your seat. Please give me the pros vs cons on this airlines. The other option is Aegean

ITA was formerly Alitalia which we flew quite a lot without any problems.

Foe a 2hr flight, just pick the one with the best price ( be sure to include all the factors) and best schedule for your needs.
a bus is a bus
No personal experience with either--- it was Alitalia when I flew that route

I prefer Aegean but if the price on ITA is less then go for it. It will just be a short flight.
