Isle of Capri- from the top of the funicular Capri Village

I will be there for about 4 hours this July. Will 4 hours be enough to wall / hike and see a lot? Any suggestions as to what we should do there?

Cheryl-I say "don't bother!)...by the time you catch a ferry from wherever, take the funicular up to Capri town, figure out where and what to do, it'll be time to turn around and leave. I would just stay a little longer in whatever village you're at and enjoy another cappuccino!
We were there last July for 3 days; it was hot, but worth it since we could enjoy Capri after all the tourists left...
At the very least, make it a long day trip!

Cheryl,

Unfortunately Sue may be right... depends on what you want to see. Capri is a small island, but like Sue, we spent a few nights and it's a different island after all the day trippers leave.

That said, if you're determined to go, your 4 hours will probably not allow you enough time to hike, etc. You'll probably see no more than the "downtown, more touristy" area of Capri - and that's an easy 4 hours! Seeing the blue grotto would probably be impossible in that time frame unless you had "prearranged" everything!

So know that if you go for just 4 hours, what you will see will be limited by that amount of time. Capri is beautiful and well worth an overnight visit... It's 20-30 minutes from Naples by hydrafoil, 5-10 minutes up the funicular, etc. Public transportation is limited on the island because many sections of town/island are pedestrian only - which will prevent you moving quickly --- it's really a place to relax, not hurry! Good luck!

Ciao,
Ron
