I spent a wonderful afternoon on Capri, mostly in Anacapri. I loved the day and have always wanted to return for a longer stay.
I plan to return for hiking in Amalfi this October and was looking forward to spending the night on Capri, but I am wondering about Ischia. I get mixed information on a ferry from Capri to Ischia. I know Capri is a tourist destination but did not feel that in Anacapri.
Any comments on one versus the other?

Ischia is significantly larger and deserves more than just 1 night.
If 1 night is all you have, I would pick Capri, which also has the benefit of being easy to access by ferry from Amalfi in season.
