We want to spend 3 or 4 days chilling on Ischia after back-to-back Best of Italy and Best of South Italy tours. Any suggestions for hotels or resorts? Any suggestions concerning all inclusive v half pension v room?
Take this recommendation with a grain of salt because we haven't actually been yet, but we're spending 5 nights at Hotel Nettuno in just a couple of weeks (early August). Last minute trip for us so options within our budget were somewhat limited and this seemed to offer a mix of a great view from the balcony, walking distance to the port in Forio, etc. We also considered staying at the former monastery by the castle in Ischia Porto.
My husband and I spent time on Ischia in 2018. We stayed at the Albergo Il Monastero, a 14th century Aragonese Castle on the tiny spur off the islands coast. The room was comfortable, reasonably priced, quiet, and the atmosphere serene. The restaurant was tremendous--all local produce, fresh breads, island specialties, and the castle's own Biancolello. Even if you don't stay at the hotel you should visit the castle.
