Need opinions and suggestions for the island of Ischia. I will be in Sorrento for 3 full days and wondered about the idea of skipping Capri and instead visit Ischia for relaxation and thermal spas on one of my days in the area. Any favorite spa suggestions very appreciated. Thanks.

We hoped the ferry and did a day trip to Ischia and Procida. We did not have much time on either island befoe we had to come back.

Linda, you can catch an early ferry and spend a relaxing day in Ischia. Or you can get there from Naples before you go to Sorrento.

Zoe, I was wondering about spending my first day in the Naples area on Ischia. I am coming in from Rome. I've heard there is a fast train from Rome to Naples, but I wonder if it would be pushing it to manage going to Ischia before arriving in Sorrento. I do plan on making a day trip from Sorrento to visit the archeological museum in Naples and then train it to Pompei on a seperate trip. Do you think there is enough time for Ischia coming in from Rome? I don't want to rush my time there. Thanks for your input.

There is only one direct service between Ischia and Sorrento per day. There are more options if you travel via Naples but obviously a lot longer journey time.
