Hi JS,
We spent 10 days this past March in Ischia Ponte at Exclusive Home Ischia's 'Aquamarine' apartment. They also rent the adjoining Turchese (turquoise) unit. That is owned by the Conte family, who have appointed their daughter Gabriella as their rep, with her brother Pierre-Mario also assisting. Great folks. No probs---they will spoil you, seriously.

It was fantastic, with its world-class view of the castle plus proximity to all that you'll need: buses, restaurants, groceries, beaches, walks/hikes, shopping, a bookstore, pharmacy and more. We enjoyed the outdoors hot tub. If you are a fan of the 'My Brilliant Friend' novel/TV series know that some scenes were shot in the courtyard of this building.

It was an all-time splurge for us. Wrenching to leave, really.
Happy to further advise regarding the isle or this property.
I am done. the end.

Last summer, we spent 4 incredible days/nights at Relais Bijoux, Via Pendio Del Lapillo 1, Ischia Porto, 80077 Ischia, Italy. It was recommended to us by an Italian You Tube Vlogger that I follow. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The 180+ degree views of Naples Bay with Vesuvius in the far distance and Ischia's castle in the near distance is incredible. The photos on their website don't do the view justice. While they don't advertise their dinners, they do serve a phenomenal dinner. We dined there all 4 nights, it was THAT good. It was a 4/5 course meal with all the wine you can drink on their outdoor patio with that amazing view. We didn't know the cost until the end of the trip, but it was like $50 per person. It was well worth it! I booked it on Booking.com

Thanks Joe & Rose for that great article. Our recent rental was directly across the road from that final foto's depicted art gallery 'Mazella'. Actually, a pair of his wonderful works adorned our apartment there in the Ponte neighbourhood.
And just 2 doors down from his gallery, is what for us turned out to be the most enjoyable restaurant: 'Olio, Aglio & Pomodoro'.
Continuing SE towards the bridge and castle, there is a terrific, old-school bookstore with a clever name.

We will soon begin to construct one of our looooong and quirky TRs to feature Ischia and also the AC proper (we based the first half of that trip in Minori), which as always, will include copious imagery with music, humour plus tips.

I am done. The end.

We stayed at an AirB&B on the waterfront with a fabulous deck view of the castle. It was called Gabriella’s place. The host was very nice and helpful We LOVED Ischia.

Thank you all for the great info. We finally booked plane tickets today and now I have to get busy making all of our hotel reservations. We will start in ischia. Hope to take the ferry to procida one day. From there we will head to Matera or maybe our furthest destination and stay in Matera on the way back to Naples.

I would prefer to only change hotels 3/times so need to base where the drive to visit areas is close. Looking for suggestions.

Thank you

Procida= a must. Advise visiting on a weekday to minimize crowds.
Good Luck JS.
