Ischia

I would like to hear from anyone who has stayed on the Island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples. I've heard it is a beautiful place, that not many foreigners go to, mainly visited by Italian tourists. We are considering it for our next trip. We're looking for something off the beaten path. Any insight would be helpful especially about accommodations, including B&B's. Would Capri be better? Have you visited the hot springs there?

If you want to go off the beaten path and avoid American tourists, I suggest you try the island of Procida. It too is in the bay of Naples, within sight of Ischia. We spent a week there and had a great time. It is a small island. You can walk around it in a few hours. The hotel we stayed at said we were the first Americans to stay there. We stayed in the town of Chiaiolella which is on the West end of the island - the opposite end of the island from where the ferry lands. Google "Procida, Italy" and you will get a good idea of what to expect.
