Is this too ambitious for one day? Monreale Cathedral + Valley of the Temples

Hello everyone!!

decided to post a separate question related to the itinerary I'm working on. I just want to hear whether that would actually work.

I might have to ( due to hotel availability and a scheduling dilemma) do the following:

Check out from hotel in Palermo >>> tour Monreale monastery >> lunch >> tour Valley of the Temples >>> check-in at Castillo di Falconare (Butera area)

Looking at the distances/times to get around:

30-40 min to Monreale
2.5 hours to Valley of the Temples
1 hour to Castillo di Falconare.

It's definitely going to be a very long day. I know it's not ideal but it might be necessary.

I'm looking at an itinerary of a Japanese tour company and their one-day excursion to Agrigento from Palermo is “8:30-17:30 / Palermo>>> Agrigento’s Valley of the temples >>> Palermo”. Returning to Palermo. So, I’m kind of hoping that even though it’s not ideal, my Palermo to Castillo di Falconare via Monreale and valley of the Temples is doable. For the following day, I’m considering doing......nothing! just staying at the castle and relaxing :)))

Anyone has done both of these major attractions in one day?

If you go in summer the Valley of the temples is open until 11pm (otherwise 8pm). 3 hours are sufficient to visit it.

If you leave Monreale before Noon, it’s doable. Don’t stop at restaurants for lunch though.

Thank you, Roberto! I know some people spend the whole day there, but I think with a group that's not realistic. I am glad to hear that 3 hours could be enough.
