Is this the site to buy Castel Sant'Angelo tickets?

Hello everyone,

It's been a bit difficult to determine what sites are the official site for the Museums and which ones are 3rd party (that upcharge you). Is this the proper site for the Castel Sant'Angelo? I'm looking at just going to the place myself, no tours.

wait this place is cheaper. Which one is the proper one then? Also, if you buy a general full price, is that good the whole day?

I'd consider it the 'official' ticketing resource, the same site as samuelito recommended.

Editing to add: the website Dario helpfully provided (yep, I've used that site quite a lot) has this page for the castel....
https://www.turismoroma.it/en/places/national-museum-saint-angel-castle

On that page is this link for tickets....
www.gebart.it/musei/museo-nazionale-di-castel-santangelo

....and the "buy ticket" link on that page brings you to the same ticketing site we'd provided above.

You can find the official sites of each museum on the City's Tourism board site: https://www.turismoroma.it/en/tipo-luogo/museums

Which one is the proper one then?

A re-seller is a middle-man, and middle-men do not work for free. Official sites are cheaper because you save the re-seller's piece of the pie and keep it for you.

As a rule of thumb, few Italian official sites use the .com domain instead of .it Or Rome instead of Roma in the web address.

Thank you, that Turismoro site is incredibly helpful!

Do you need to buy tickets ahead of time for the Castel? Or can you buy tickets right at the door (i.e. is there a long ticket line like the Vatican)?
