Is this still an option for travel btw Rome FCO and Termini?

I found a 4 year old TripAdvisor article where someone asked about the wisdom of taking the Leonardo Express from the airport to Termini - back then it was 14 Euros one way. Someone else gave the option of the "SIT airport bus" that takes you to the Piazza dei Cinquecento, just outside the Termini. Has anyone done this recently? Does it still exist, and for how much? And if it is still good, do you pick up tickets somewhere inside the airport or directly from the driver? Thanks!

There are two I know of

Rome Airport Bus

and Terravision.

We usually use a car service due to early departures, but later this month we are leaving sufficiently late in the morning that we'll try the bus. PM me in March if I forget to come back and post.

I think the Leonardo Express is still €14, maybe €15. It can be a lot faster than the SITA bus because it doesn't have to deal with traffic.

Piazza del Cinquecento is the main bus stop area in front of Termini train station, so you will arrive at nearly the same place by train or bus. If you take a taxi to your hotel, be sure to go to the queue in front of the station. Or you may be able to take a local bus (buy tickets inside Termini station from the newsstand).

We've used the Leonardo many, many times and it is very easy. Another positive about Leonardo is traffic does not effect it in any way. If you use it make sure you validate your ticket at the yellow validation box at the head of the track.

We are in our late 60"s and now prefer to use a car service like romashuttle.com. They provide excellent service.

Yes, the leonardo express train is still 14 euros. It runs every half hour and takes a half hour between stops. There are a few bus companies that take you into town. I don't use them so can't answer those questions.

We've taken one of the shuttle buses, and while they take a little longer, they're a good option if you're watching pennies: clean, safe and comfortable. Laurel provided links above: we paid just 4 euros apiece.

There were kiosks right outside the exit from the luggage pickup for purchasing tickets. They'll tell you which stop to stand at outside for the next bus.
