Is there still a train to Castiglione del Lago (Umbria)? We were going to do a day trip from Cortona to check out Rocca del Leone, but when I try to search trains to that location nothing comes up on the apps. I've checked Trenitalia and Italo. Is that station still there, or is that line no longer in service? If still running, what is an alternate name for the station there? I've tried the old station abbreviation found online CAST LAG as well to no avail. Please advise, thank you.

When are you searching? It may be a website/scheduling issue.
I several Camucia-Cortona to Castiglione Del Lago 13 minute trips on the Trenitalia website for March 12th. Sometimes there are changes - I guess because it's a small station not every train serves - but there are several options.

Ok I rebooted the phone and went back in and was able to find it. Also, how far in advance can you book regional trains? I was able to book a few things but others it gives me an error.

Since it is a regional train, has no seat reservations, is always the same price, and cannot sell out, no point in buying until you need to ride it.
