I want to buy tickets and make reservations at the Borghese Gallery in late Sept. The website referenced in the RS Rome book (www.tosc.it) doesn't provide for English (a rarity in my experience of Italian sites). Any suggestions where I can get English access (preferably without paying too much-albeit reliability is more a concern). Thanks
Here' the TOSC.IT site in English. https://www.tosc.it/tickets.html
The language choice button was at the bottom of the page. Weird.
EDIT: You have to click on the Borghese item (top one) and the next page is in English.
AND , if you would like an in depth experience of Bernini , Watch this brilliant one hour documentary by the art historian , Simon Schama - https://youtu.be/y9nbDXdmLaE Also , The St Teresa is in Santa Maria della Vittoria
Success!! Laurel and Steven,
Thank you so much. Laurel, I was too easily put off by the seemingly endless Roman options to scroll to the bottom for the English version. Steven, I have just cued up the youtube address.
I was having a lot of trouble too. I was letting Chrome translate the page. That does not work. You have to click on the English button/translate actually on the website which is curiously mid way down the page on the far right then it populates the forms field correctly. Just be careful that you select the right day as the calendar starts with Monday and not Sunday. Also the ticket time said 12 am on my check out form but then at the end the screen and receipt said the right time in the middle of the page and also a seat number
This was very helpful to me, thank you! I should note, however, that in Rick's Rome 2018 book, it states the cost is €13, however it is €20 unless I'm missing something. He also says the guided English tours are €6.50, but I can't even find where you can reserve those. Does anyone know? Thank you.
Bonnie, you can't rely on a guidebook for current attraction prices. They can experience either a permanent increase after a book has gone to press, or a temporary one due to special exhibits. The same can sometimes be true for hours. It's best to use an attraction's official website for the most current info.
To book tours and tickets, you want to use the same tosc.it site linked above, or just use this one:
Choose your date (unless it's too far out so bookings are not available yet), and then you'll want to choose an available time slot for ENGLISH GUIDED TOUR, Full Price + GUIDED TOUR if ordering for adults. Just choosing a random date, those are running € 26.50 PP (€ 24.50 + € 2.00 reservation fee) and includes your entry tickets.
