I took several pics in Rome inside churches, and I'd love to know which churches they are in. I should have photographed the sign with the name of the church on it, before taking the pics, so they'd be organized and easy to identify. Next time, I will. But I got to wondering whether there might be a forum with Roman Church Experts in it, who could help me identify which churches my pictures are of? If you know of any, could you please let me know? Thanks so much.
If you know what order you visited the churches in, you can check the time/date information on your photos and figure it out. I've always been able to identify my 'mystery' photos this way. You can't post a photo here, but if you have your photos loaded on a photo site (like flikr, etc) you can post a link to them here and someone could probably identify them for you.
Some cameras automatically records the GPS location. So that would tell you where the church was located.
There are a fair number of Scrapbooks archived at this site, created by RS tour members over the past several years. Those covering Rome itineraries may yield some 'hits' (not all albums have such detail, but many offer who/what/where):
- Best of Rome
- Best of VFR
- Heart of Italy
- Best of Italy
- MyWay Italy
- Best of Europe
Happy Hunting!
You can also try google reverse image search. Click on the little camera icon, upload your photo and do a search.

If you used an iPhone (and many android) it will have the GPS data for the picture.

Right. There are umpty humans right here who could help you but you'd have to load your photos to a site like the one mentioned and then post the links. I used to belong to a travel site that enabled posting of jpg photos on their forums but it's no longer around, and I'm unaware of any others which allow it.
Otherwise, reverse searches are probably the way to go if you don't have GPS locations.
Wow! I had no idea this Google Reverse Photo thing existed! How fun!!! You guys are awesome, so full of helpful info! I didn't know about the GPS thing on phones, either. Hubby did take some photos on our new travel phone, so we'll try that, too! In a few cases, the reverse feature isn't too helpful, just giving the response, "Holy Image," or something like that, but in most cases it works great. I'm finding we visited churches I didn't think we had! Marvelous resource! Thank you, Everyone!

Camera phones are a great way of documenting certain details that can be referenced at a later date. The only problem: you need to organize your files and label them when you get home, or they might end up useless.
Tineye is another reverse photo-search resource.
You could also try a Google search of "Churches in Rome" as that should bring up some good pictures, and you may recognize the ones you visited. I've used that technique in the past and it works reasonably well, albeit somewhat time consuming.
As others have mentioned, if you have a photo website and can post the links to your photos, some in the group here might be able to help.
One thing I like to do is at the end of the day, go into my Notes or journal app and make quick notes what we did that day - what we visited, where we ate...eventually I do up an online journal. Doesn't help you now, but it could be a helpful idea for future trips. And I've also taken photos of church signs - sometimes when you visit a lot in one day, you can forget, that's for sure!
