Does anyone know if there is a baggage check at the train station in Orvieto. I will be stopping there for the day in route to Rome and will need to know if there is a baggage check. If not, I will need to make other arrangements. Thank you. E-mail minuhenson@yahoo.com

No, there is no baggage check in Orvieto. However, you may be able to talk the station master into putting you bag in his office. If he doesn't already have bags there he will sometimes do it. BUT, you had better pick them up when he says or you will be spending the night. Also, the people at the top of the funicular may do it for you. They will tell you tho that they do not guarantee it won't be stolen. They do not watch it closely and they admit that.
