is the Venezia Unica card worth it?

Hi,
Venice will be the last stop on our Itinerary. We will be there for 4 full days as the 5th reserved for the Biennale. I have heard different things from different people about whether the Venezia Unica card is worth it or if I should just get Vaporetto passes instead.

Any thoughts? We will be hitting most of the attractions that Rick Steves and trip advisor recommend.

Thank you.

You can research options at veneziaunica.it. For 4 days I would still get the full week use of the vaporetti. Think of it as a tour bus. I like it in the morning - watching Venice wake up is an experience most tourists don't get, and they're missing out on a lot. It's great for getting to or from a specific location - especially if your feet are tired from all the walking. In the evening there is no other way to watch the lights in the palazzi come on and begin a magical transfer from city to mirage. At the end of the day, a late night slow ride on the Grand Canal will be better (and more fun) than a sleeping pill. And that's just an ordinary day! What about a day trip to the other islands? Even use the pass for the ride to/from the Biennale exhibits. If you add it all together the 7 day pass is cost effective and convenient! I didn't mention the museums, the churches or the other options you can bunch together in a more expansive card. You can easily look up the separate prices and compare the totals. I'm in Venice every year for at least 5 days - the card saves time in lines and either saves money or evens out every year.

I think that a timed vaporetto pass may be better value.
A Venezia Unica card, previously known as an Imob, costs 50 euro and is valid for five years. Once you have the card, you load it with trips costing about 12 or 14 euro per trip.
Alternatively the timed passes cost
20 euro for 24 hours
30 euro for 48 hours
40 euro for 72 hours
60 euro for seven days.

If you figure on making further visits to Venice, then the Venezia Unica makes sense, otherwise a 72 hour pass might work for you.

Yes, 12 or 14 euro for ten trips.
The 100 euro cost is a stinger. We arrive in Venice around 2nd October 2020, our cards expire 30th September 2020. Just have to hand over the money I suppose, having those cards makes us feel as though we belong.

Club dues went up. But they've talked about limiting access to Venice at very busy times to Venezia Unica card holders. "Open that velvet cord, I've got my membership card."
