Is the Spanish Steps refurbishing complete?

The Spanish Steps were closed in October 2015 to begin a refurbishing. All reports indicated that the project would be complete in the spring of 2016.

My family will be going to Rome in early May. Has anyone been there recently to let me know if the project is complete and the steps are fully open again?

Thanks

I just looked at the livecam and all but one side is still blocked off:

Not sure when the entire thing will be open again but honestly, I wouldn't worry about it; you'll be able to see them and climb the one open side if you wish to. They're really nothing more than a walk-by en-route to something that's more interesting anyway (trust me on this one). :O)

Trust Kathy, indeed - the Spanish Steps are among the less impressive parts of one of my favorite cities.

We were just there last week. Steps aren't complete but you can walk up one side. We walked from the top to the Pincio and down to Palazzo Popolo. Nice views.

I agree. Never understood the attraction for the Spanish steps. Just a staircase between two streets.

Last time I saw them , years ago, they were chock-a-block with people sitting on the steps, eating ice cream or a sandwich, leaving a mess, and making your way up the steps was impossible. Will that still be permitted?
