We would like to stay in Monterosso next April at the Locanda Il Maestrale hotel. They are listed and sound wonderful in my 2019 copy of Rick's Italy book. But we have not been able to get their website to open on our home computer or mobiles. They are listed, along with lovely photos, on other websites (Booking, Expedia, Hotels.com). But when I choose dates and try to check availability, the message pops up "unavailable" or "sold out on our site." Yesterday I sent an email to the address listed in my guidebook but have had no reply. Do any travelers have recent knowledge? Or can Rick share if the guidebook updating has found them still in business? I hope so! Thanks

I also couldn't get any response from their website, and that brings several possibilities to mind.....
they're fully booked for a while so have simply taken the website offline.
they're closed permanently (not as likely as they're still listed on the cinqueterre.eu website).
they're having website problems and having trouble resolving them.
I checked the "Updates" section for Rick's Italy guidebooks and didn't see anything listed so I assume the hotel is still open. You could perhaps try to phone them if you're committed to staying in that particular hotel.
It would probably be a good idea to start looking at other hotels. Two that I would recomment are Hotel Villa Steno and Hotel Pasquale, or you could try Villa Adrian which is at the end of the "new town" - https://www.villaadriana.info/ .

as ken says look for another place. seems the owners have left for somewhere else.
on their website there is a note in italian, google translate; unless the name of inn has changed.

Thanks for all the advice. We will keep checking, but many are already booked. I guess the idea of shoulder season is changing.

There are reviews for this hotel on booking.com as recently as July 20th, and just some random clicking around for open dates shows availability here and there as late as the end of October this year. Nothing after that. My guess is that yes, it's still open, that it closes during the winter months, and that it's just not taking bookings yet for next year.
Not sure what you're trying to use for a website as I can't find that they have a working site so may have gone to booking mainly through online booking services since 2019. Have you tried calling them? +39 0187 817013.

For what it's worth, we tried booking a room for October 6-7 and it said it was sold out and to try the following night's dates. We clicked on that and it took us to room selections. So it looks like for now they are taking bookings in Oct. When we tried for April, it says no availability in April. Perhaps they just haven't opened up their bookings yet. The suggestions you received from Ken are excellent choices and equally wonderful.

YEA! I just got an reply from Locanda Il Maestrale!
It turns out that many of you are correct. They do not have the 2023 dates open at this time.
But we are now in communication, yea! (Though for some reason i still cannot open their website, mystery?)
