Does anyone have any experience catching a 6:45 am flight out of Venice? I know private water taxi's are expensive. There is an Alilaguna Water Bus which, according to the schedule, is supposed to get me to the airport by 4:59. If that route is usually on time, it would be nice to know. Thanks!

Our experience is that they are generally on time. That is the first run of the morning. they have their on docks so no waiting for other craft to get out of the way. They usually are only stopped for a couple of minutes to load/unload. So plan on getting there a bit early rather than on the dot. Depending on wehere you are staying, you may find it easier to catch ALilaguna at the Fondamente Nove stop at 04:21. There is about a 5-10inute walk to the terminal from the airport docks. Current cost is 13 euro per person. Pack a small flashlight or headlamp with you. It will help at 03:00 Busses start running from Piazzale Roma at 05:00 and get you to Marco Polo around:05:25 There really isn't much going on at the airport at 05:00, you may have to wait a few minutes for the desks to open.

Thanks! The stop closest to us would be the Fondamente Nova one, so that is good to know! I think I also read that the airport doesn't even open until 5:00, so if that is true, I think I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much!
