Hi everyone,
Taking train in fall from Lake Como to Bologna.
We are staying in Bologna for 4 nights and could stop overnight in Parma on way instead of back tracking on a day trip from Bologna. Anyone have suggestions?
I liked Parma a lot but stayed two nights. I’m not sure stopping for one is worth it unless you’re seriously into food and have several places to eat at in the city. It is a city but the main sites are near enough to each other that a day visit is doable and keeps you from having to unpack for just one night.
Thank you so much for your response. As we started looking, we have decided 2 nights Parma and 3 in Bologna.
I think you'll be happy with your decision! We spent five nights in Bologna and visited Parma as a day trip. We would love to spend more time in Parma--and would include at least one overnight there. I don't know if they still offer it, but the TI in Parma offered a 2+ hour walking tour that included a visit to the Cathedral and Baptistery. Of course, there's the food...!!!
I spent only a night in Parma but found it a vibrant, lovely town.
