We're thinking about visiting Italy in October, this is our first trip there. How is the weather then?

How late in October? Early October is still pretty nice, but you can expect cool nights, shorter days (daylight) I've been to Rome the first week of November, and the weather was delightful. Amalfi should still be warm. Been to the CT in early October and we had great temps for hiking the trail, not for swimming!

What is Cinque Terre? I'm heading to Southern Italy and not familiar with that.

We were there for our daughters birthday, Oct 26. The weather was warm with cool nights and mornings. It can rain anytime and did during the week before we arrived. I thought it was a great time to be in Italy.
