Is Lido worth the time?

Will be in Venice for 2 1/2 days in late June. Having been to Venice a couple times before, this time we are thinking of taking a vaporetto to Lido Island. However, don't know if there is enough there to spend the time? Any suggestions? Or should we skip Lido entirely? Have already seen Murano and Burano. Thanks!

For me it was not, but obviously opinions differ, so if you have read about it and are curious, you should definitely see it for yourself.

Have you been to San Michele, the cemetery island? For me, that was much more interesting then the Lido.

I have gone to Lido a few times usually to change vaporetto. I wasn't particularly impressed; it had less appeal to me than Punta Sabbioni, which is saying something.

I go to Venice for Venice.

If you are bored with what you have seen in your previous visits to Venice, perhaps exploring other sestiere would be for you. Have you explored Cannaregio? Or the Arsenale? Or Giardini? Have you been S Georgio (one of my favourite places) or the back streets and campos in Dorsoduro?

I would recommend Torcello before the Lido.

Thanks for your great comments. Looks like we will skip Lido. I appreciate the recommendations of places worth seeing. I can't imagine anyone getting bored with Venice... each time I visit there is always some place new to see. The joy of Venice is walking it's streets, and being surprised around every corner. Thanks!

I have been to Venice numerous times and I have been to the Lido. I did it once as a day trip and liked it. It doesn't feel like Venice since buses and cars are allowed on the island. I would recommend it if you have done other islands or if you want a beach day. I had my kids with me so we did a beach day and lunch on the island. They all liked it and enjoyed experiencing the beach in Europe. They liked renting chairs and an umbrella for the day. Unique experience for my kids.
