Is Italy open for Vaccinated Americans?

So much information about Italy reopening for vaccinated U.S. Americans. My question is: Is Italy only open for vaccinated Americans taking Covid free flights?
I booked a flight through United to Turin, Italy for November 2021. However, after combing through the information, reading travel updates - it appears there is still a 10 day quarantine regardless of vaccination status, unless taking a Covid Free flight. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated!

At this time, no
Only those arriving on COVID tested flights can bypass the quarantine requirements
( nonstop United flights to Rome, Milan)

In November? Who knows?
I believe the COVID flights have been approved thru 10/30/21 by Italian government

Info here:
https://www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto

The trials of ‘Covid-tested’ flights established by the Ordinances of
23 November 2020, 9 March 2021 and 14 May,2021have been extended to
30 October 2021, without prejudice to possible further extensions.

Thank you, thank you!
This was my understanding, it must be Covid free flights only to avoid quarantine. I know November is a long way from now, but I do not want to and cannot quarantine for 10 days.
I will continue to wait.

Where are you flying from?
Could you change flight now to a non stop out of Newark or JFK to Milan (or Rome)? That will surely be a COVID flight IF they are still required.
On arrival you are free to move about the country- train to Turin is about an hour from Milan.

I'm hoping they drop the entry test requirements as well- we fly in Sept on a COVID flight. I'm OK with the testing but it's just 1 more thing!
France is allowing vaccinated Americans in now and I have to think Italy is going to want to get in on that tourism asap.

France is allowing vaccinated Americans in now and I have to think Italy is going to want to get in on that tourism asap.

But you left out that in addition to proof of vaccination you still need "either a negative COVID PCR test conducted within the 72 hours prior to departure OR a negative COVID antigen test performed within the 48 hours prior to departure" in order to get on the plane to France:

Oh- sorry! Yes-- but it doesn't need to be a special COVID flight, correct?
And of course we'll need to test for re-entry to US, I doubt that will change anytime soon.

What is limited to Delta?
Do flights to France have to be non stop from just certain locations/arilines?

COVID flights to Italy are United, American and Delta/AF

I’m flying from Los Angeles. No Covid Free flights from LAX. I am planning to stay in Turin for three nights and then head to Verona.

I am flying from LAX to FCO on August 1st on a nonstop flight via Alitalia. I am surprised it is not a covid tested flight. I am hoping things change though.

As an American, if I wanted to enter Italy from Munich via train (meaning I didn't come into Italy on a Covid-flight) would I need to quarantine, or is proof of vaccination and negative COVID test taken within 48 hours sufficient?

My understanding is quarantine is required for Italy, if you enter from Munich via train, unless you have been in a Schengen country for at least 14 days.

I can only tell everyone that my son-in-law and grandson are in Italy right now. Both have been vaccinated, and they had to have a negative test within 72 hours of departure (on United). They are not quarantining. They are moving around and eating in restaurants. Though my sil has some business to transact, they will be doing some tourist things, as well; and they will end with a few days at the vacation home of friends in Tuscany. (Sigh.). My sil has been super conscientious about all anti-covid regulations, so I don’t think he would do anything that was not officially allowed.

I'm afraid that they are not in compliance with the regulations.

This website says anyone can enter Italy from a list of European countries without a quarantine.
From this website: “The five-day quarantine for these countries was abolished on May 17.”
And: “All persons arriving in Italy from any country mentioned above are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours of arrival.”

My understanding is, if you come directly from the US to Italy on a Covid free flight you do not have to quarantine.
But if you come directly from the US to Italy not on a Covid free flight, you do have to quarantine.

Edit: Kim has explained in another thread that if you have not been in a European country on the accepted list for at least 14 days before entering Italy you will have to quarantine when you get to Italy.

Because they have a hub at SFO, we often have to fly on United, though I am not a huge fan of theirs. However, they seem to have done well handling the pandemic. As far back as December, they had a testing facility set up at (not in) the airport. You had to make an appointment, and it was done from your car. Boarding was prohibited without proof of a negative test. Actually, if I remember correctly, there was a special check of test results at check-in. At the boarding area, social distancing seats were marked off; and hand sanitizer was available everywhere you turned. I assume these procedures are what is meant by “covid free” flights. Susan’s link, above, makes it perfectly clear what one must do; and, since it is dated June 8, we can assume it gives the latest info.

Not necessarily
The COVID flights are the ones approved by Italian health ministry
Some are listed in the above link

ETA
The info above is not exactly up to date
It says the only COVID tested flights are Delta and Alitalia
Both United and American also offer approved COVID tested flights
