I'm leaving for Rome on Friday and I have 2 days to 180days. Could get a booster with my healthcare provider and considering doing at Walgreen but if it's not required than I want to postpone it until I get back from the trip

You leave this Friday? Day after tomorrow?

Here is the Italian page on vaccine validity. I only have it in Italian. It says the original cycle of 1 or 2 doses is valid for 180 days (6 months). The booster becomes effective 48 hours after the jab and does not expire, at least not now.

The regulations for entry change on March 1 so that is one is fully vaccinated (and valid), you don’t need a negative covid test in addition. But you do need a valid vaccination.

I think you better go get that booster.

270 days is to enter the country as of March 1st. However, the "super green pass" has not changed yet... this means at 6 months you have the booster which doesn't expire. While you can enter the country you can't do anything within the country except go to the grocery store and pharmacy. This is also expected to change but it hasn't yet. Hopefully April 1st.

This is the EU rule, with the 270 day expiration for vaccination. It applies to travel within the EU, making a uniform rule for that area. It it is not applicable to entry into Italy from the US or other non-EU countries.

Why not just get the booster? It’s required for RS Tours. It’s required to even dine at an Italian McDonalds. Let alone visiting museums.
Plus, providing additional protection for self and others.

Hate to tell you, but your 2nd shot is not very effective after 6 months - that's why the booster push. Get the booster now and you'll be ready for the a booster/flu shot in autumn.
