Is it possible to hire a driver in Tuscany

Has anyone booked a private driver to take you to various Tuscan and Umbrian hill towns? The plan would be a home base in Tuscany and if we can't get a car rental then a private driver would be an option. Thoughts?
Thank you,

We used My Day Trip to take us from Rome to Sacro Bosco, Civita di Banoregio, and Orvieto. The driver was prompt and courteous, and the car was clean and comfortable.

Look at AutoEurope.Com to try and book a car rental. We always book through them.

As I said in your other post- I don’t think availability is a problem now. It may have been early in the year

The key is to rent car strategically- only for the days you really need it.

If you book with AutoEurope you do pay in advance but reservation can always be canceled or changed.
If you see a rate and location that works, book it. Then continue to monitor rates and see if a better deal pops up.
I get their emails, just had one the other day about a rental sale in Italy so I assume that means they have availability.

It is possible but it is obviously more expensive than renting your own car. If you don’t mind driving, use www.AutoEurope.com. If you prefer leaving the driving to some professional driver there are many companies you can use. But if you plan to stay in a farmhouse or countryside Villa or even a small village, then rent a car.

Car with driver in Italian is called "NCC" (Noleggio Con Conducente), so you if look for "NCC Firenze" or "NCC Umbria" you can find several rental companies and private licensed drivers.
Hire a NCC has several benefits: you don't need to drive and you can enjoy the route, you are not worried about ZTL because a legal NCC can enter in the most of them, you sometimes skip traffic jams because the NCC can use bus reserved lines, the NCC pick you up at the hotel and leave you almost everywhere you like.
Of course on the other side is more expensive: for a daily tour you must be prepared to spend at least 200€ or more (depend how many kilometers and hours).
