Is it possible to get from Siena to CT?

I arrive in Florence 17 Sept, 2 nights in Florence--I want to see Siena and Cinque Terra. Is it possible easily take a train from Siena to Cinque Terra?

I agree with Kent. It is possible but it will take some time and train changes. Note that the Siena train station is about 1km down the hill but there is a frequent local bus. Still, the train is best. One alternative is the SITA Rapide bus from the Siena city wall to Florence. The SITA bus station is a long block from the main train station where you would need to pick up a train to the CT. From Florence, it's about 2.5hrs-3.0hrs.

The places I want to visit while I'm in Italy are Florence, Cinque Terra, Siena, San Gimignano and maybe Lucca. I arrive 17 Sept, leave 27 Sept. I have booked 2 days when I arrive in a convent in Florence and also 2 days before I leave at the same convent. Will I be able to visit those places easily? I do want to spend 2 nights in Cinque Terra.

From Florence, you can easily take a 1.0hr. train to Poggibonsi, a small town near San Gimignano. Then, you can take a frequent local bus from the train station to the city wall. Very easy. The return is just as easy.

The train from Florence to the CT will take 2.5hrs-3hrs depending on where you want to go. It's a bit out of the way, so you will most likely change trains in Pisa and possibly again in La Spezia. Again, this is not difficult.
