I saw this question was asked but the answers are from 2017. Wondering if anyone has gone recently and rented a diesel car. Thanks in advance for your responses.

No it’s available everywhere in Italy and throughout Europe. There are many diesel cars on the roads as until recently it was considered cleaner than petrol. That’s all changed and most new cars are petrol these days so I think it’s fairly unlikely you would get a diesel rental car now.

Is Diesel gas hard to find in Italy?
Hopefully it is impossible to find.
Anytime the two are mixed and used in an engine, bad things happen.

people are still driving them (me too) since 2017. Every filling station will have it.
(agreed - don't mix the two) but we understood what you meant.
