Don't think is automatic. You have to request and they will bring you one.
If this is a big deal to you, why don't you bring your own? If carrying it is an issue, buy a really cheap one and leave it behind. Even pre-COVID, I started getting uncomfortable with airline blankets for germ issues. I think if it was important to me, I'd just bring a cheap one of my own and ditch it if I couldn't pack it.
Delta provided both blankets and pillows for each passenger when I flew round trip from Atlanta/Rome three weeks ago.
Pillows, blanket, eye mask, earphones all provided without asking.
