I have a limited amount of time to spend in Rome, and was wondering if Castel Sant'Angelo is worth seeing. Also, I'm planning on seeing the Colosseum, Pantheon, Imperial and Roman Forums, and Vatican City; any other suggestions?
My wife and I visited it and found it quite interesting. We took it in after visiting the Vatican, only a short walk away. The view of Rome from the top of Castel Sant'Angelo is terrific.
I would try and see St. Peter's in Chains church if time permits. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum and has a magnificient sculpture by Michaelangelo of Moses and also displays the chains that held St. Peter's. Wonderful old church. You should also take in Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, they are not too far apart when walking. Enjoy your trip.
I think the Castel Sant'Angelo is worth a limited
amoung of time, but was not one of my favorite
things in Rome. Your other stops are all better
uses of time. I would suggest a visit to the Martime
Prison located next to the Forum. Both St. Paul
and St. Peter were imprisoned there.
