We were planning to take a light umbrella stroller for our daughter who is 20months old. Is this something manageable in italian streets, especially like in Rome, Florence which have cobble stoned streets? Kindly advice if we need to carry on our heavy duty stroller instead? Thanks.
We were in Rome and Tuscany last July and my daughter brought a Maclaren Volo lightweight stroller for her 10-month-old. It was never a problem on the cobblestone and it was very easy to lift when we needed to navigate steps. It was also cooler for my granddaughter because of how lightweight it is.
Thanks Sue.
A friend did the stroller thing with a one year old, but also had a child carrier on his back. The toddler literally opened so many door for them - the Italians adore children, and made a huge fuss wherever they went.
