Is a day trip to Pisa doable/worth it with this itinerary

5 friends and I (21-22 year old guys) will be in Florence from June 3-6 and Rome from June 6-9. We are wondering if it’s worth it to fit a short trip to Pisa in and wanted some advice on when to do it with our itinerary.

June 3rd - bruneschelli dome at 3 pm, June 4th - Accademia Gallery at 5:45 pm, June 5th - Wine tour in Tuscany. Currently planning on leaving Florence in the morning of the 6th for Rome. We have the Vatican on June 7th and the colosseum on June 8th.

One option would be a trip in the early morning/afternoon on the 4th before returning to Florence to see the statue of David. Another option is the morning of the 6th with a 10am train from Florence, stay until 3:30 and leave for Rome straight from Pisa. What do you think is best? Also if we go on the 6th, is there somewhere to store our bags/luggage in Pisa during the day?

A short Pisa trip to see the tower, the cathedral and the baptistery is worth it. Go June 3rd after climbing the duomo. There’s a Pisa train station just a short walk from the cathedral. If you leave Florence by 4:30pm you should be there by 6:00pm and would give you two hours to see the sights and you can take pictures if you like after 8pm.

I have visited the site of the Leaning Tower twice and enjoyed it both times. I did climb to tower as well. You may have to book going up in the tower these days.

Still, you don't have much time in Florence, so try not to miss much in that wonderful city.

We finally got to Pisa on our 4th trip and I have to say I was way more impressed than I thought I’d be.
We stayed overnight and those gorgeous buildings on the Field all lit up were a sight to see. Just beautiful.

If you can squeeze it in without taking too much from Florence, I’d do it.
