Recently purchased an IPod Touch for a month of travel in Italy. Are there apps that are particularly good for rail travel, language and sightseeing in Italy?
The language appps I have require a data connection to work. So not so great.
I use the built in notes app on my iPhone to store stuff pulled off the internet to reference.
Ultralingua. Best Englisg Italian dictionary.
I have downloaded about a dozen. For language most use google translate and thus require wifi. I love Word Roll and italian Verbs as they do not require wifi. Depending on the cities you are visiting, w you can get list of guide information.look at the Podcasts in addition to the applications as many are free. Tou will love your touch. I loved mi e so much I bought an iPad.
Not Apps per se here, but if you go onto iTunes, there are a TONNE of free videos, and tours on places throughout Europe (including stuff from Rick, and his pod cast). We really enjoyed listening to them, and watching the videos on our way to those cities. The tours were also great.
If you have any food allergy issues, there is a Gluten Free app that gives restaurant translation cards.
