It seems clear that cellular access is a no-go for iPad users, but what about wi-fi access for the iPad at hotspots in cities?
Marc, You shouldn't have any difficulties connecting to Wi-Fi with an iPad. As you may be aware, some Hotels offer this at no cost with the room, while others have a small charge. In Italy especially, it's quite common to require a Password which you may have to renew every day. I used my iPod Touch on Wi-Fi last year with no problems. Happy travels!
Perfetto! Thanks, Ken.
I feared all text might be in Italian.
Why would it be in Italian? If you get onto Yahoo it will go to the Italian version, but you can change it to English. Besides that everything I accessed was in English, because I was going to my normal sites.
What Andrea said. Just look for the British flag on the website (often at the top)
Marc, I think you can get cellular access on an IPad in Italy. You just have to be careful you get something with rates that won't bankrupt you, but it can be done.
We had no problems with wifi. Most hotels and apartments supply it free. We sykped quite a bit and it worked fine.
