iPad ??

Hi Everyone,

I would like to take my iPad to Sicily just to take pictures. I did buy a adapter with 2 round prongs is that all I need?

Thank you,

I would not use your ipad to take pictures, use your phone. It is easier and less intrusive to everyone else. Depending on your memory, it may fill up quickly.

To answer your question yes to charge your Ipad or your Iphone take your regular US wall plugs and plug into the 2 round prong adapter you bought which goes into the wall.
That is all you need extra, that little adapter which usually cost a couple of bucks.

...and less intrusive to everyone else.

Care to elaborate?

Does using a tablet's camera offend your traveling and photographic sensibilities?

To the OP, your adaptor plug will do fine. Apple mobile products and most modern electronics can handle various voltages and don't need a converter.

I use my iPad mini for photos all the time. Intrusive would be stepping in someone's way, regardless of what you use to take photos.

Sounds like you have what you need. You may want to look into ICloud to back up photos and free up memory space on your iPad.

I also bring along a simple cube tap. Turns one outlet into four.

IPAD is reasonable choice. It is possible that the battery life is longer than a cell phone. My SLR camera took better pics but I do have 30 year old slides. Travel may be intrusive for many, including for the family members within the country that asked us to come. And more than a few have been very welcoming!

For some reason, people taking pictures with iPads and other tablets seem more prone to holding them up in the air, trying to take pictures over other people's heads. That can, indeed, block the view of folks around them. I generally try to avoid situations in which I'm one of the sardines, so the practice hasn't been a frequent problem for me, but I see it in art museums pretty often and outside the White House in my hometown.

I do not know anything about the camera specs for Apple devices, but when I researched Android phones and tablets 2 years ago, the camera specs on phones were better than those on tablets, so a lot of those tablet users are probably getting inferior pictures.

My complaint with iPad photographers - not everyone, just my experience
several times, different people, different places.....seems to always happen
to me.
I have my camera aimed and ready to shoot and someone raises their iPad
right in front of me or a bit to the side, so I end up with their device in my pic.
LOL - ......just my luck ....

Don't know if the OP will need it for this purpose, but one reason we brought the iPad was so we could FaceTime our adult daughters back in the US. Not often, maybe a couple times apiece, to just chat with them, give each of them a walking tour of our digs in Rome & Sorrento. Really was nice, almost was like they were there with us.

We also brought a collapsible keyboard that we could stand the iPad into, and that was our computer over in Italy. Much easier to compose EMails that way rather than the iPhone. But...we took pics with my iPhone 5s, and it worked just fine. And I agree it's less obtrusive to others as well.

to get back to the original question......

as well as the plug adapter make sure you can switch any device to 230volts

To be fair to the OP I am sure there are responsible Ipad picture takers and non-responsible ones.
Just like their are responsible and non-responsible phone picture takers and camera picture takers.
Owning an Ipad is not related to possessing manners and acting respectful of others.

"as well as the plug adapter make sure you can switch any device to 230volts"

There are no switches to operate with Apple chargers. They're designed to operate from 100-240 VAC.
