Ionian Coastline

Has anyone stayed at one of the smaller towns along the east coast? We are taking a train from Brindisi to travel that side and thought we'd make a stopover on our way through to Villa San Giovanni. Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Along the route you must take, try to find something around ROSETO CAPO SPULICO. That is the best spot between Taranto and Sibari.

There are also nice areas on the Ionian Coast after Cirò Marina, and especially the area near Crotone, Capo Rizzuto and le Castella, but those would not be along the route, because coming from Brindisi and going to Villa SG, once you reach the Piana di Sibari (Sibari Plain) you will be taking the road across going west to the Tyrrhenian Coast (the west side of Calabria). On that side there is famous Tropea of course, but if you want the Ionian Coast and don’t want to detour to Crotone, then ROSETO CAPO SPULICO (and all the stretch from Rocca Imperiale to Trebisacce) is the best part.
