Lorraine, you have me stumped. Iona is an island in Scotland AFAIK. You say "the boot" so I cannot help but think you mean Puglia and the Adriatic Coast? Please clarify and perhaps we can help.

I think she means the Ionian Coast: "The Ionian Sea (Greek: Ιόνιο Πέλαγος, Greek pronunciation: [iˈonio ˈpelaɣos], Italian: Mar Ionio, Italian pronunciation: [mar ˈjɔːnjo], Albanian: Deti Jon) is an elongated embayment of the Mediterranean Sea, south of the Adriatic Sea. It is bounded by southern Italy including Calabria, Sicily, and the Salento peninsula to the west, southern Albania to the north, and west coast of Greece."

It is the costal area at the very bottom of Italy to Greece.

All of Italy is considered "the boot", due to its shape. Do you want the heel or the toe?

Calabria's coastline is beautiful. Look at Tropea images online - it's in a stunning setting.
