are there any internet cafes in the villages. I want to leave my laptop at home.

There is a good one in Vernazza its about half way from the train station and the break water on the right. It is listed in Rick's book.

Yes, there is one there, and also 2 for rent at the Blue Marlin Bar in Vernazza.

Two I can think of:
Bar Centrale in Riomaggiore
TI/National Park Office next to the train station in Riomaggiore

I'm not sure where you're staying, but at the Hotel Steno in Monterossa they had a computer at the hotel. And, it was pretty cheap too, from what I remember. Hope this helps.
