international train ticket

Is it possible to purchase,on line,a train ticket from Milano Central to Strasbourg Ville France. Would need to have it come in as an e-ticket.
Would like I have said, purchase them on line, not having to ho to the international sales at Roma,Firenze or Milano. Also, having the tickets mailed is not an option.

Thank you

It is possible, but you have to do it at Rail Europe.com. There are two changes of trains, it seems.

I found a ticket at sncf.com, but didn't go as far as where to collect it, or if it can be emailed.

jaye,

Yes, it should be possible to pre-purchase the tickets for that route. A few thoughts....

  • I wasn't able to find "Strasbourg Ville" on the list at bahn.de? The station is just listed as "Strasbourg" but there are several other choices. I assume you're referring to the main rail station in Strasbourg (looks like a large greenhouse, so quite a dramatic appearance).
  • Don't bother with Rail Europe. You'll likely pay more and won't have as many choices.
  • A couple of the easiest and quickest trains on that route will be departures at 07:23 and 11:23 as they only have one change at Basel SBB (travel times 6H:16M & 5H:46M respectively). There are numerous other departures if you don't mind more changes.
  • You might have a look at www.capitainetrain.com to buy your tickets. They now sell tickets for Italy as well as France. I'm not sure how far in advance they will sell the last segment but that should become apparent when you go through the purchase process.
