Anyone have tips on exchanging my verion sim card for some sort of Italian Sim Card (which could also be used in Greece, Croatia and Montenegro)? what stores sell them, where are they, how do i even disconnect my phone from verizon and activate a new sim card? Are these things electronic now and if so how do you do that/where purchase? TYIA

if you have an 'unlocked' phone with a physical sim you can purchase a card anywhere in italy. i suggest going to a company store rather than a generic 'phone' store. i am happy with vodaphone when i travel. i have also used tim. the salespeople take care of the sim switch/activation of the service. you will need your passport as id. prepaid service is usually for 28 days. then you can top up. a caveat; if you are in another country by then the top-up may not work either via the app or at a store. also, you won't be able to access your verizon text or VM. good practice is to write down the phone number in case you forget!
