Info on Rick Steves Sicily tour

We are on the 9/7 tour of Sicily and will be going into Palermo early. Does anyone know what specifically the tour of Palermo includes? Certain markets, sites etc.? I know the website tells us what sites they do not go to but can not determine exactly what they do see. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You

Hi Donna. We will also be on the 9/7 Sicily tour. I thought that the "itinerary" section clearly said what we would see and do in Palermo, but other than the markets, wandering the backstreets and the Palazzo, it doesn't really give alot of detail. I was just going to try and hit the sights mentioned that we wouldn't be seeing as we are arriving a day early as well.
Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Candy,
We could not get a response from the hotel that the tour group is staying in so will be in another hotel not far away on Saturday night. We are from the Seattle area. Look forward to meeting you also. Donna

Donna,

As I recall from my tour, a good walking tour of Palermo is provided which does a nice job of covering the history, along with an outstanding welcome dinner. When leaving Palermo, you'll also stop at the Monreale Cathedral on the way to Cefalu.

As you live in Seattle, you might take a drive to Edmonds and have a chat with the folks in the tour office, as I'm sure they will be able to answer all your questions. The excellent guide that handled my tour works in the tour office, so she will have all the details.

That's an awesome tour!

I was on the Sicily tour in mid June. On the first day (really half day) of the tour, we did a group visit to Palazzo Conte Federico, with the countess and one of her sons as our private guides. On day two, we took the bus to Monreale to visit the Cathedral. After we returned to Palermo, we had a guided walk through the streets of Palermo. We walked through Vuccaria market (where our guide treated us to street food). We also visited La Martorana church and Palermo Cathedral.
