September 21,2018 is the date and time window is 07-1900, then our boat sails away. I am looking for suggestions that won't break the bank.We will be traveling on the Crown Princess September 8-22 for a Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We eloped to the court house for our initial ceremony. We love cruising and my husband has always said it would be nice to renew our vows on a cruise sometime. This would be the perfect time however, "intimate" renewal apparently is in a group setting on one day of the cruise, for whomever wants to renew. The date is at the Captains discretion. Um.. I want to do it on our actual anniversary and a group is not "intimate" by ourselves. Desired: Beautiful intimate setting or scenery, flowers for the bride in a chosen gown, corsage for the groom (we can even get those once we hit land). Nice relaxing cafe or bistro or something after . Definitely open for suggestions. Maybe someone local just wants to help us make our dreams come true.
Where is the ship going to be docked? Livorno?
Hi, it's too bad that your ship won't dock closer to Florence. Last may I surprised my wife of 33 year with a simple vow renewal in cortona at le chelle monastery (where St Francis of Assisi stayed in the 1200's) with a fantastic local Cortonanese tour guide, Giovanni Adreani (he of the Rick Steves Tuscan Hill Town video series) acting as our 'best man'. Giovanni is the nicest, most knowlegable tour guide who took us to a local olive oil factory and many of the sights (churches) in the Cortona area during our 1/2 day tour. Cortona is about 70 minutes from Florence and if you are able to contact him in advance, I'm sure that he could arrange for you to renew your vows with a franciscan frier at the picturesque le chelle. Google his name for contact information; you will cherish this moment for the rest of your lives.
Yes the ship port will be Livorno.
I wish I could be more help, but I personally would look at Lucca. Pisa kind of left us cold. You might contact the Lucca tourist office for help.
Thanks for the tips U look forward to many more & if course the Mediterranean Cruise in September on Princess. I may also try I believe” Tour local”. I encountered them at a recent travel show. They set you up with a local guide. We’ll see what there insight is.
