Indoor Slippers For Travel---Cold AirBnB Floors!

Gearing up for early April trip to Florence/Rome/Salerno/Sicily. And with this being our 4th trip, in trying to build a better mousetrap, I am fixated on packing lighter each time. I need to do 16 days out of a 22"x14"x9" bag, prefer not to pack it to the gills if I can help it, also knowing that from past experience that footwear takes a ton of room in a carry-on.

No more. I have one pair of Kizik Athens no-tie shoes that will be on my feet. They work with shorts, sweats, and dress slacks. But, I need a pair of indoor slippers, either foldable or very light, that I can wear on those cold AirBnB floors--found out the hard way in Sorrento one March! This $30 pair of Long Bay Memory Foam slippers are more towards what I want:

They certainly look like they'd do the trick, and could be smashed lengthwise into the side of my carry-on without much if any damage to them. And they don't appear like they'd make my feet sweat either. Slip on & off as well.

Anybody have a favorite brand that would check all my boxes?

They aren't slip-on. I'm about a year removed from a hip replacement, and I'd rather not have to sit on a bed and pull them on. And they might get too warm, you think?

Frank...I have exacting needs! (HA!!)

This may seem like a wacky idea. Our cabin here in Minnesota is about seven feet off the ground with an uninsulated floor and we go there even when temperatures are below freezing. I hate wearing shoes, so I have tried lots and lots of slippers. I discovered that what worked the best for me was thin, light summertime flip-flops --- it doesn't seem to matter if one's feet are bare as long as there is half an inch of rubber between them and the cold floor. I like these because they are wide, but any kind would work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D9WJZ4D9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

Flip flops are best because they work as slippers and shower shoes.

I take Birkenstock EVA Arizona sandals in basic black - very light weight, can wear on plane (for gross bathroom floors), can wear them out and about if needed, and they can get wet in the shower or by the pool. I have sensitive feet so regular flip flops or flimsy slippers won't cut it.

I bought several pairs of "spa slippers" from Ikea a few years ago. They are similar to the type of slippers that hotels provide on occasion. They weigh next to nothing and take up very little space. I don't know if Ikea still sells them but I would imagine they could also be found on Amazon.

For several years now, I have been taking regular light weight "tennies" such as Sketchers to use as slippers. They are more comfortable for me than flip-flops, soft sole slippers, slipper socks, etc. Stuffed full of small things, they fit well in my carry-on size luggage. They don't go outside at all. Tho' I have never needed to, they can be a backup for any regular shoe failure. This procedure has worked well for tile or wood floors. And especially in Japan instead of those flimsy too small excuses for footwear.

I also usually travel with the disposable spa slippers I take from the hotels where I stay. Many hotels offer them complimentary to guests and I usually take them home.. They take zero space and are super light.
Google “Spa Slippers” and order some online. They cost like less than one dollar a pair and they do the job in the cold and hard stone tiles on Italian floors (Italian houses very rarely have carpeting, and wood parquet flooring is not super common either).

I take my very comfy thin flip flops everywhere. They fit in small pockets or under to zipper on the back of the suitcase. If they get dirty, I wash them in the shower or sink.
