Individual Train Tickets or a Train Pass

My husband and I are going to northern Italy with friends next month. We'll be flying in and out of Venice (cheaper and better flight times). We have two nights in Venice, then plan to take an early train to Trento for a winery tour and overnight stay. The following day we'll take the train to Florence for six nights before getting the train back to Venice. Suggestions for possible day trips from Florence are appreciated!

Our question: Is it cheaper to get individual train tickets, or is there a pass that might be cheaper for our itinerary?

Thanks!

Even if you don't book ahead, full-fare tickets for that route will also be cheaper than the pass. For instance, Venice-Florence costs €50 each way in standard class.

I can't think of a pass that would be cheaper than point to point tickets for your itinerary, even if you pay full (base) price.
Max prices for a full base price on 2nd class are (per person):
Venezia Santa Lucia-Trento: 34.85€
Trento-Firenze: 50.00€
Firenze-Venezia SL: 50.00€
So the total train cost (full base price) is 134.85€ per person.
I don't think you can do better with any Eurail pass.
If you buy ahead online you can save 25 to 40% over the prices I mentioned (however be aware that those discounted tickets have restrictions: no changes and no refunds once booked)

Where exactly is your wine tour in Trento and at what time?
The least expensive route, although not the fastest is to take a Regionale to Bassano del Grappa and change to a Regionale to Trento. The latter leg runs up a gorge in the Dolomite foothills to Alpine villages and then crests the mountain right above Trento for a beautiful descent. It's the short way as the crow flies, but the trains run slow in the mountains.
Cost is 22.40 EUR for 2 adults, and takes 3 hours and 32 minutes. There are departures at 5:56, 7:56, & 9:56 on week days.
