In Venice over Redentore Feast

I recently discovered that we'll be in Venice over Redentore Feast. Don't know how I missed that in my original planning but here we are. :) I have mixed feelings about this as it will mean more people in Venice during an already busy time of year but it's also an experience we'd never have otherwise so I'm going with "embrace it!" We're traveling with our 18 and 15 year olds.

Has anyone hired a boat to be on the water during the fireworks? Or have good suggestions of where to watch without being one of thousands in San Marco? I've read Parco delle Rimembranze is a good place to watch but we're staying in Dorsoduro and getting back to our apartment after the fireworks seems like it would be long and possibly chaotic with the crowds trying to leave.

I'd love to hear what others have done or of any tours that were worth the money? I saw one that took participants to Lido for a dinner on a terrace overlooking the fireworks with a dance party after but I couldn't decide what I thought of the company, if it was legit or not.

thanks!
