In search of kid-friendly tour (or other tips!) of the Colosseum! Any suggestions?

We will be in Rome in a couple weeks with our 8-year-old and we are looking for tips on kid-friendly tours or other ways to make visiting the Colosseum fun for kids.

What's your experience? What made it fun for them?

See my posting in “General Europe” about Gladiator School. It was a good mix of information and hands-on activities. My almost 7 year old grandson loved it.
