We will be in Rome during the May 1st National Holiday. We expect the museums to be closed, but will all the shops and restaurants be closed also? Thanks.
No there will be plenty of shops and restaurants open. The Romans will be eating out, too.
May 1st is International Workers’ day. That is when most countries celebrate Labor Day.
There will be many restaurants that stay open, especially in the city center where many tourists are, obviously not all, some will choose to close for the holiday, but I would say you will have enough choices.
Many stores will close, but there will be many that open in the city center, especially in shopping centers or main shopping streets.
