In Italy with Q about my Covid test for return

We have been in Italy for the past three weeks and are returning home tomorrow. We had rapid antigen Covid tests done on Friday at a pharmacy in Montepulciano and have in hand the certificate of our negative results, including a QR code.

I just noticed the certificate says this at the bottom:

“Certificazione valida 48 ore dall’ora del prelievo.”

Our travel companions are worried this means our Covid test results have expired. I feel that since the US rule allows entry with a negative result from a rapid antigen test carried out within 3 days of flight departure, we are ok despite that wording in the form.

Our friends are concerned enough that they are trying to get a call through to American Airlines.

Can anyone advise?

Answering my own question, we appear to be fine. I had the opportunity to take photos of our vaccine cards and Covid test results and upload them all on the Delta Fly Ready app, and 20 minutes later I received emails reporting that our health documents have been successfully verified.

The 48 hour language is for un-vaccinated Italians. What you received is a 48 hour green pass.
